What was formerly the Pacific Humanitarian Partnership meeting held as part of the Pacific Resilience Week will not be taking place in 2018.
Plans are underway through the Pacific Resilience Task Force to arrange the next meeting. The next meeting will be in a new format and at a different date. The overall aim of the new meeting is to support and accelerate the efforts of the wider humanitarian and development community to collectively and effectively work to implement the Framework for Resilient Development in the Pacific (FRDP), including its Goal 3: Strengthened disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
The Pacific Resilience Taskforce has established a working group to ensure that the new Pacific Resilience Meeting is a success and meets the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.
The working group has already met three times and has recommended that the Pacific Resilience Meeting takes place in April 2019 to ensure adequate time for preparations for a successful meeting.
Further planning will take place in the coming months to shape the concept and focus of the Pacific Resilience Meeting.
